Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) Inspection Services

A Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) is a site-specific document that identifies potential sources of stormwater pollution and describes specific control measures, or best management practices (BMPs), to reduce or eliminate the identified pollutants, usually by controlling the volume of stormwater runoff. The SWPP is typically developed by your civil engineer, a registered landscape architect, a Tier B surveyor, or certain federal government employees as part of your design package prior to construction.

Once land clearing or other construction activities begin, all construction sites requiring a SWPPP must also have regular inspections conducted by qualified personnel to help insure the BMPs are performing as intended and that sediment is not migrating off the site. Inspections should be conducted at a minimum of once every calendar week until final stabilization is reached in all areas. That is where we come in. At Evans Environmental Consulting, our Certified Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Inspector (CEPSCI)-certified personnel provide complete SWPPP inspection services, giving you and your construction team one less thing to worry about.

Our SWPPP inspections are compliant with the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Construction Activities (General Permit SCR100000, effective March 1, 2023). Following the inspection, we will provide an inspection report (SCDES Form 0496) documenting conditions at the time of the inspection and providing recommendations to help your site stay in compliance with the SCDES General Permit SCR100000 and your SWPPP.

We are also glad to assist with monthly SWPPP reporting, if required by the SCDES, as well as submittal of the Notice of Intent (NOI) and Notice of Termination (NOT).
